After playing music in New York between 1982 and 1991, Mark spent the following 30-plus years working as a graphic designer and art director. He got his start in Hawaii designing books and magazines for the travel industry, and then relocated to San Francisco in 1999, where he shifted his focus to the music industry, designing magazines and packaging for CDs. Mark worked chiefly for Metallica and their fan magazine So What! Other clients included Motörhead and local artists from the Bay Area. He ended his design career as the Creative Director for San Francisco-based experimental music non-profit Other Minds. He may still be available for select self-contained design projects, and you’re welcome to contact him about your project, but his focus has shifted back to music production.
