Zen Jam began in New York as the music publishing entity for Mark Abramson’s band Cosmic Oven. When the band broke up in 1991 Mark re-oriented Zen Jam towards graphic design, which became its focus for three decades. In 2025, the company returned to making music. Zen Jam is now a record company and also manages the publishing rights for some of it’s artists. Our first release, in April 2025, was a compilation of songs by His Master’s Voice dating from the glory days of New York’s East Village. Spring 2026 will see two releases from San-Franciscan singer-songwriter Mary Kelley. Later this year we’ll offer a compilation of previously unreleased work by the aforementioned Cosmic Oven.
