So What! Issue 21.4

Last month, Metallica’s fan club publication, So What!, finally printed the last issue of 2014. It’s not an unusual situation for us – things being what they are in the world of rock ‘n’ roll, it can take a while to wrap up all the details. The band members are pretty hands-on with the content of the magazine, and they are very busy, so our biggest challenge for our editor is getting the face time he needs with them to verify the important details of the articles we publish. I’ve said this before, I have learned to roll with it.

This issue contains a long interview with Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, who has been using his spare time when not working on Metallica’s projects to produce a feature-length documentary on the late great jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius. Robert has set up a crowdfunding page to help fund the production; here’s the link. Additional features sum up the band’s participation in the Veteran’s Day Concert for Valor in Washington D.C. last November, and in the victory parade for the winners of the 2014 World Series, the San Francisco Giants.
